About: 
The California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment (CCCSE) Osher Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing their education at a California Community College. Osher scholars have a specific set of eligibility requirements in addition to the criteria established by the Moorpark College Foundation. 

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Major:  Music 
  • Minimum GPA: Not required
  • Student Status: Must be continuing at Moorpark College in the upcoming academic year 
  • Enrollment: Either full-time or part-time  
  • Credits: completed a minimum of 24 credits, be enrolled in at least 6.0 credits
  • Must be a recipient of the California College Promise Grant during the award year

AAUW Thousand Oaks Scholarship



About: 
AAUW (formerly the American Association of University Women) advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. Since 1881, AAUW has been one of the nation’s leading voices promoting education and equity for women and girls. This scholarship is funded with the generosity and support of the AAUW Thousand Oaks branch. 

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Major: Any
  • Minimum GPA: 3.3
  • Student Status: Can either be continuing at Moorpark College or transferring to a 4-year university in the upcoming academic year

About: 
This scholarship is for students registered in the Moorpark College ACCESS program. Essays must showcase leadership through assistance to others.

  • Student Status: Can either be continuing at Moorpark College or transferring to a 4-year university in the upcoming academic year  
  • Enrollment: Either full-time or part-time
  • Credits:  No minimum required
  • Must be registered in ACCESS Program

AHSV Biotech Scholarship



About:
Adventist Health Simi Valley has established this scholarship in support of continuing Moorpark College Biotech students preparing for a career in the healthcare field.

Eligibility criteria:
  • Major: Biotech, B.S. in Biomanufacturing

  • Student Status: Continuing in Moorpark College Bachelor Degree Program in the upcoming academic year

Altrusa Scholarship



About: 

The Altrusa Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence, community service, and leadership. Established in partnership with the Oxnard branch of Altrusa International—a global organization dedicated to empowering women, promoting literacy, and supporting community service—this scholarship aims to support students who embody the values of Altrusa, including service to others, personal growth, and a dedication to making a positive impact in their communities. 

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Major: Business, Accounting, Economics, Nursing, Health & Wellness, Radiology Tech, Teaching, Education
  • Minimum GPA: 2.9
  • Student Status: Must be continuing at Moorpark College in the upcoming academic year

Andrew Cortes Memorial Scholarship



About:
Faculty, staff, and friends of Andrew Cortes established this scholarship in his memory and how he overcame health adversity to study at Moorpark College.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Major: RadTech
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0  
  • Student Status:  Continuing or transferring student
  • Enrollment: Either full-time or part-time
  • Credits: No minimum requirement 
  • Applicants should emphasize campus activities, community service, and financial challenges in their essays

Art Osher Scholarship

Important Note for Art Majors and Photography Students:

Art majors are encouraged to submit the Moorpark College Foundation Spring 2025 Application to be considered for all scholarships across various departments. However, Art and Photography department scholarships require a separate application, which will be available later in the Spring 2025 semester. Submitting only the Spring 2025 Application will not make you eligible for these specific scholarships.

ASMC Earn & Learn Scholarship



About: 
The Associated Students of Moorpark College (ASMC) Earn & Learn Scholarship aims to make college more affordable for full-time and part-time Moorpark College students who are currently employed.
Applicants and interested parties are encouraged to contact ASMCAcademicAffairs@vcccd.edu with any
questions they have about the Earn & Learn Scholarship eligibility criteria or its writing prompts.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Applicant must be currently employed AT LEAST part-time in a job or in an internship (paid or unpaid)

ASMC Global Opportunity Scholarship



About: 
The Associated Students of Moorpark College (ASMC) Global Opportunity Scholarship aims to alleviate the financial strain of tuition and fees for Moorpark College students who are not eligible for federal financial aid, including undocumented students, refugees, international students, and others.

Blake Family Scholarship - ANCT



About: 
The Blake Family Scholarship is dedicated to supporting students in the Animal Care and Training Program (formerly EATM). Established by the Blake Family, this scholarship honors Carole Blake's legacy and her commitment to animal care and conservation. It aims to assist students in achieving their academic and professional goals within the field, promoting a deep respect for all animals and fostering future leaders in animal welfare.

Brian Wolverton Anthropology Scholarship



About: 

The Brian Wolverton Scholarship honors the memory of PFC Brian M. Wolverton, a dedicated Moorpark College student with a passion for cultural anthropology. After completing his studies at Moorpark, Brian planned to transfer to continue his education, driven by a strong desire to understand different cultures and serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Army to fulfill his commitment to both service and learning. Tragically, Brian lost his life while serving in Afghanistan, leaving behind his dream of applying his knowledge for the betterment of others.

The Brian Wolverton Anthropology Transfer Scholarship is designed to support students pursuing anthropology, reflecting Brian's aspirations to use his education in meaningful ways. This scholarship aims to inspire future generations to follow in Brian's footsteps, dedicating their studies and careers to understanding and serving diverse communities around the world.


Eligibility Requirements:
  • Major: Anthropology   
  • Minimum GPA:  3.0
  • Student Status: Must be transferring   
  • Enrollment: Either full-time or part-time  
  • Credits: Must have completed at least two courses in Anthropology
Special Essay Requirement:  
Must submit a narrative in which they state how they intend to use their knowledge of anthropology and/or archaeology to improve the lives of other people. This narrative should be a minimum of 500 words and should contain information about how the applicant first became interested in anthropology, how their anthropology classes at Moorpark College have affected their thinking, and how they intend to continue their studies.  Where appropriate, applicants should also note prior instances in which they have used their anthropological knowledge to understand some aspect of their lives and/or to improve the lives of others.

Bruce Garber Legacy Scholarship



About: 
Bruce Garber was a dedicated professor at Moorpark College and a passionate advocate for intellectualism, human rights, social justice, civility, environmentalism, and respect for all living beings. To apply for this scholarship, students must write an essay detailing how they embody these values in their educational pursuits, achievements, and future goals.

Campus Community Stewardship Scholarship

The Campus Community Stewardship Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to strengthening the Moorpark College community. Stewardship, defined as the responsible management and care of the community and its resources, is at the heart of this scholarship. Recipients contribute selflessly to campus life, promote inclusivity, and support programs that enhance the student experience.

Whether through organizing events, advocating for social justice, or fostering a welcoming atmosphere, these students make a lasting, positive impact on campus. Their efforts help create an equitable, supportive environment where all students can thrive.

Caroline Esparza Nursing Scholarship



About: 
Established by Adventist Health Simi Valley Hospital to honor Caroline Esparza, HNA, RN. With over 35 years in healthcare, she is the hospital's Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. The scholarship was named in her honor because she reflects the highest levels of nursing through outstanding quality, care, compassion, and leadership; is a strong supporter of nursing education; and an inspiration to all nurses.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Major:  Nursing
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Student Status:  Either continuing or transferring. Transferring students must provide proof of acceptance to a BSN program.

The Classified Senate at Moorpark College is made up of dedicated staff members, including counselors, service specialists, technicians, custodians, and other support personnel. These professionals play a vital role in facilitating student learning, promoting campus goals, and fostering a strong sense of community and personal development. This scholarship honors the collaborative efforts of the classified staff in supporting the college’s mission and goals.

The Classified Senate is pleased to offer this scholarship to students who exhibit a strong commitment to their academic pursuits and contribute to the campus community at Moorpark College.

Clean Power Alliance Voyager Scholarship



About: 
The Clean Power Alliance (CPA) Voyager Scholarship provides aid to students pursuing renewable energy careers. Funded by CPA and the Voyager Wind project developer, Terra-Gen, the scholarship fosters workforce development and supports clean energy solutions while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Major:  STEM, Environmental Science, Engineering, Biotechnology
  • Minimum GPA:  2.5

English Department Scholarship



About:
To be considered for this scholarship and submit an application, the student must be nominated by a faculty member. Nominating faculty will give students a separate application to fill out with information about their essay. 
Both the English Department and the Moorpark College Foundation Scholarship applications should be filled out.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Must be nominated by English faculty & submit an essay to the English department 
  • Must complete BOTH the English Department and the Moorpark College Foundation Scholarship applications 
  • Major: English  
  • Minimum GPA: 3.2 GPA overall, with 3.5 in English classes   
  • Student Status: Can either be continuing at Moorpark College or transferring to a 4-year university in the upcoming academic year

    • minimum of 30 units, of which at least 24 must be completed at Moorpark

The Female Scholar Athlete of the Year Scholarship, awarded by the Athletics Department each Spring, recognizes an outstanding female student-athlete who excels in academics and athletics. Nominations are made by coaches, faculty, and staff, celebrating those who demonstrate dedication and leadership.

  • Must be nominated and selected by the Athletics Department
  • Must be transferring to a 4-year university in the upcoming academic year

Field Hockey Federation Scholarship



About:

The Field Hockey Federation Scholarship supports Moorpark College students coaching or playing field hockey. It aligns with the federation's mission to promote equal access to the sport, focusing on physical activity, teamwork, leadership development, and personal growth.

About: 

The George Floyd Memorial Scholarship at Moorpark College honors George Floyd’s memory, whose death in May 2020 ignited a global movement against racial injustice and police brutality. This scholarship supports students dedicated to promoting racial understanding and fostering meaningful interactions among diverse communities. Established by a former dean and faculty members, it empowers individuals striving to challenge systemic racism, advocate for social justice, and uplift the Black community. 

Through this scholarship, we aim to inspire a new generation of leaders committed to creating a more equitable society. Applicants will be asked to write an essay responding to the prompt: “In what significant ways have you contributed to the uplift of the Black community or worked to improve race relations between Black and other ethnic groups?”

Laurie White Memorial Scholarship



About: 

The Laurie White Memorial Scholarship honors Laurie White, a devoted graduate of the Exotic Animal Training and Management program (now Animal Care and Training) at Moorpark College. A 2006 alumna who cherished her time in the program, Laurie earned her Master’s in Education in May 2013 and became a high school science teacher before her untimely passing in July 2013.

In her memory, her parents, Karen and Gary White, established this scholarship fund to support qualified Animal Care and Training students, encouraging them to follow in Laurie’s footsteps and nurture a passion for animal care and education.

This scholarship is generously funded by Senta Greene, the founder and executive leader of Full Circle Consulting LLC. Greene, a recognized expert in Child Development, established the scholarship to honor Walker’s impactful contributions and to support the ongoing leadership of child development professionals.

The term "Non Nocere" is derived from the Latin phrase "primum non nocere," which means "first, do no harm." It is a foundational principle in medical ethics, emphasizing the importance of avoiding harm to patients while providing care.

Outstanding Speaker - Pieleat-Morad Award



About: 

The Pielaet-Morad Award honors the legacies of David Pielaet and Feras Morad, two exemplary students from the Moorpark College Forensics Team, who both achieved remarkable success and demonstrated unwavering commitment to their communities. Although their time on the team was separated by decades, their shared dedication and excellence led them to multiple national championships. Tragically, both men's lives ended too soon—David in a car accident and Feras as a victim of violence.

This award is presented annually to a top student who has completed their competitive career on the team and embodies the values that David and Feras represented: excellence, community involvement, and resilience. Through this recognition, their memories continue to inspire future generations of forensics students.

  • Student Status: Can either be continuing at Moorpark College or transferring to a 4-year university in the upcoming academic year

  • Campus activities: involved in the dance program, outstanding dancer/choreographer/student leader, and contribution to dance.

Westlake Village Garden Club EATM/ANCT Scholarship



About: 
The Westlake Village Garden Club funds this scholarship to support a student in the Animal Care and Training Program (formerly known as EATM) who is currently in their first year and will continue into their second year. 

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Major: Animal Care and Training (ANCT formerly, EATM)     
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0
  • Student Status: for current 1st-year Animal Care and Training students continuing their 2nd year in the upcoming academic year   
  • Enrollment: Either full-time or part-time   
  • Credits: Equivalent of completing 1st-year ANCT at the end of the current Spring semester

The Westlake Village Garden Club provides scholarships to encourage a student to continue their studies in a field of study related to environmental science, conservation, ecology, forestry, agriculture, and wildlife.

  • Major: Any, pursuing a career or majoring at 4-year university in Environmental Science, Conservation, Ecology, Forestry, Agriculture, or Wildlife
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0  
  • Student Status: Must be transferring to a 4-year university in the upcoming academic year
